IWA Celebrates James Hardley Chase's 117th Posthumous Birthday

 IWA CELEBRATES JAMES HARDLEY CHASE'S 117TH POSTHUMOUS BIRTHDAY



The International Writers Association (IWA) has commemorated the 117th posthumous birthday of the iconic English writer, James Hardley Chase. 


In a heartfelt tribute, IWA recognized the lasting impact of Chase's literary contributions and his influence on the thriller genre.


In a statement released by Wole Adedoyin, President of the International Writers Association, James Hardley Chase, born René Lodge Brabazon Raymond on December 24, 1906, left an indelible mark under various pseudonyms, including James Hadley Chase, James L. Docherty, Raymond Marshall, R. Raymond, and Ambrose Grant. 


Adedoyin acknowledged Chase's position as one of the best-known thriller writers globally, with a canon of 90 titles that solidified his reputation as the king of thriller writers in Europe.


Chase's legacy extended beyond his prolific writing career, as 50 of his literary works have been adapted into films, making him one of the internationally best-selling authors of his time. 


IWA celebrated the enduring popularity of Chase's novels, which continue to captivate readers and inspire a new generation of writers.


As part of the commemoration, IWA members around the world are organizing events, discussions, and online tributes to honor James Hardley Chase's literary achievements. 


These activities aim to highlight the timeless relevance of Chase's work and its ongoing impact on the literary landscape.
